How can it be true!? The end of February already!?
We’ve been so lucky on the West Coast to be spoiled with an early spring – some days it almost feels like summer!! I know full well that all of our friends from the Midlands and East Coast of the continent have had enough of us ‘Best Coast-ers’ bragging about the gorgeous blossoms and fine sunshine we’ve been experiencing as of late… So I thought I’d share a different version of an exquisite blossom to take your mind off our gushing…
For all the February babies out there – Violet is your flower – and so it seemed only appropriate to showcase this sweet fascinator before month’s end.
‘Violet Blume’ is a piece honouring a classic and long cherished, delicate bloom. Symbolizing faithfulness, purity and charm against evil. In the Victorian era, a gift of Violets conveyed the message ‘I’ll always be true’.
If you follow along on my FLEUR Blog, you’ll already know about the feature on ‘meaning of flowers’ in which I highlight the flowers used and their representation that a bride chooses to carry into her marriage.
Most people are drawn to a particular flower, and often subconsciously, the representation of that particular bloom will resonate perfectly with one’s own values and personality. It’s quite fascinating!
I love the enchanting thought of flowers having their own language – a secret message to be decoded. Maybe a ‘lil somethin’ to think about the next time you’re sending flowers to your beloved, cherished friend – or hey – even enemy for that fact 😉 …
‘Violet Blume’ is created from elegant Bamboo satin base, embellished with a handcrafted satin and italian silk lace flower. Hand-beaded Swarovski detailing, sequins, feathered herl, veiling and finished with a beautiful silk lining.
Enough to make any flower guru envy, regardless of the weather outside!
